I first wrote this piece in 2008 following the launch of the Lagos Rail Project. However, I learnt recently that the LASG is considering buying 15 yr-old 'second hand' rail coaches from Toronto Transit Commission. The question now is, what's the business of the state govt in purchasing rolling-stock, considering that the original plan was that the railway will be operated/maintained by the private sector. As you will note from my article below, the railway is intended to be delivered via a PPP, with LASG as financier of the rail infrastructure. I hope this doesn't become another Lekki Expressway Project. Anyway, let me have your thoughts.

Original Gangster – here comes the Sheriff….again!
When the bow-tied Sheriff first appeared on the scene, many bankers went absent without leave, discovered ailments which required trips to foreign-based hospitals and care centres, booked luxury VIP rooms in private hospitals in Nigeria or simply stopped attending parties where the paparrazzi were running rampant.
Meanwhile...the Ladies have it
As we wait for the next big thing in corruption and money laundering charges out of Nigeria, following Ma Baker at Oceanic Bank comes Calamity Jane of the Nigeria Stock Exchange a.k.a Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke.
I have written about this lady before in an article titled ‘Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke – What a girl!’ because I have always thought of Ndi as special and unique in the Nigerian environment but 135 Rolex watches at N1.2bn? That’s stretching it a bit.
Ma Baker & the Oceanic Sounds
Shelley Winters in 1970 appeared in a Roger Corman film Bloody Mama. I never got to watch it but if you did please let me know.
Who, me? Yes, you! Couldn't be! Then who? – the OPS
This is beginning to look more like it! Fingers pointing in every direction with the Federal Government taking a stance on the recent rating by Transparency International that Nigeria ranked 130th on a list of the world’s most corrupt nations.
Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke: What a Girl!.
There is something about Ndi. Director-General of Nigeria’s Stock Exchange, Chairman of Transcorporation of Nigeria (Transcorp) amongst many other high and influential positions in Nigeria.
Now, now, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, This is Reckless
BUT for adherence to Rule of Law, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi says those found culpable in the current crisis rocking the banking industry ought to be tied to the stake and shot.
Sycophancy & the Brown-nose Syndrome
What is it about Banking and Bankers in Nigeria? Nowhere in the entire world do you have the frontpages of newspapers filled with Managing Directors, Executive Directors and Marketers grinning and shaking hands with State executives.

One thing you would agree with is that there are many beautiful women in Nigeria. Depending on which part of the country you are in, they get more beautiful and attractive and better educated.
